11.2. The General Ledger - Defined

The General Ledger could be called the melting pot for all information gathered from the other modules.

The accounts within the General Ledger provide an up-to-the-minute status of all incoming and outgoing transactions. It can be as simple or as comprehensive as you require, containing as few as the 17 compulsory accounts or as many accounts as you need.

Reports that are generated by the General Ledger are valuable to your business and your accountant, and can be tailored specifically for your business without the need to learn cryptic commands or macro languages.

All functions of the General Ledger are accessed from the General Ledger Module option on the Main Menu.

We will go through each option on this menu thoroughly in this chapter.
