3.3. Records

All information within Equity is stored in records which are displayed on screen one at a time or in lists. Records are like the cards in a Card File.

Each record type is presented in the same way with the title of the record in the top left hand corner, the message area in the top right hand corner and the function key options at the bottom.

The message area usually contains the option you have selected, but messages are also displayed in this area. If at any time the computer beeps, look at the message area to get an indication why it has beeped.

Function Keys have been provided to allow fast access to special functions and detail screens. The main information is displayed on the record, but often there is other information that can be displayed by using the function keys. If you choose to press any function key you can always return to the main record by pressing [Esc].
