3.2. Menus

All procedures and reports are accessed via menus. Menus appear as a list in a box on the screen, and the top line of the list will be highlighted.

Each line represents a choice. To select one of the choices, move the highlight bar up or down using the [up-arrow] or [down-arrow] keys until it highlights the desired choice, or type the first letter of the choice. Then, by pressing [Enter], that choice will be selected and executed by Equity.

You can also select from a menu by pressing the first letter of the option. If there is more than one option with the same first letter, press the letter again until the option you want to select is highlighted.

Note: If the [up-arrow] or [down-arrow] keys only cause the currently highlighted choice to flash, it is probable that the Numlock is switched on. Press the [Numlock] key to turn it off again.

Menus quite often have other menus as options. By selecting a sub-menu another menu will be displayed over the last. You can go backwards by pressing [Esc].

3.2.1. Exiting the Program

To exit the program you must be on the Main Menu. If you are on a sub-menu press [Esc] until the computer just beeps at you. To exit from the Main Menu press [Ctrl][Esc], [Alt][F4] or [Alt][X] if you are running under Microsoft Windows.
